I Heard Your Voice A Askin'
by Marijo Phelps I heard Your voice a askin' For a commitment today You asked a willing soul To walk Your path a ways I nervously peered around me Whoever were You talking to? "My child, I'm calling on you, I have a task for you to do." I couldn't quite see behind that stone Maybe Your chosen was there... "My daughter, it's you I call" You made me sorely aware I stammered "I'm not qualified" But in persistence You helped me see My own efforts counted for naught My strength was Your Spirit in me "Daughter, yield your will to me Let Me course through you Put your feet in My footsteps My aim is always true. It's supposed to be very easy, When I ask someone to go- Only say YES when I ask It releases my Spirit you know. All I need is a volunteer Someone who's on My side One who's given Me control And in My love abides."
