You Are Special!

Many of us have lived our lives in the shadow of what other people thought we should be. We have experienced some unspeakable things, molestation, verbal, mental and physical abuse at the hands of our parents, step parents, relatives or family friends, with denial of one parent or the other that anything was even going on, rejection by a parent, boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse, divorce, single parenthood, being laughed at and even additions to drugs, food or alcohol. Maybe you have even spent time in jail for some of the things you have done in your past. These things have caused us to see ourselves differently than God sees us. People have told us we were not pretty or acceptable because we did not meet their expectations.

Some of us have even allowed ourselves to be defined by our situations. You can't read so you see yourselves as inadequate, I was rejected so I saw myself as unlovable and unwanted. I was fifteen and pregnant. Did that make me easy? Some body that anyone could get with it they wanted to, if they just said the right thing? Did that mean I would never amount to anything?

What has happened in your past? What caused the pain or hurt you now identify with? When you look in the mirror do you see the issue or do you see the person God created you to be?

People have a tendency to try to compare us to commercials they see on TV, rather than the way God describes us. We do not have the desired body size or structure. Our hips are too big and our breasts are too small. We are not the models people want us to be. Why do we come up short in their eyes, because people look on the outward appearance while God who created us and knows us better than we even know ourselves looks on our hearts.

If you have children they may even have rejected you because you were not a perfect parent. Regardless of what others see or expected of us God still created us. He still made us in His own image and no matter what choices we have made or issues we have, we have been fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

How do you see yourself?

Do you see yourself as your issue or as fearfully and wonderfully made?

Do you see yourself as less than because of whatever you have experienced or because you do not match what the commercials say you should look like?

Whatever has happened in your life, you are not your issue, you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

Scripture-
Psalm 139:14, says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Work on getting it together from the inside out and we will look good because God said so!!!!!
