Eastman Curtis says that at age seventeen he was "a drug-selling, campus flunky". But because he had a grandmother who prayed faithfully for him every day, his life was transformed. He is now a television minister and speaker.

This is a book of scriptural prayers on many different topics that concern our youth. I found it a year or so ago as I was searching the internet for books on prayer. Since then, it has been an invaluable resource to me.

First of all, it is short and concise. The subtitle says it is a handbook, and that is exactly what it is. It contains no-fluff, short, focused prayers. This book can be a great addition to your prayer time.

The 136 different prayers cover categories such as your child's spiritual life, bondage-breaking prayers, relationships, school needs, and life skills. There are prayers for salvation, protection, anxiety, drugs and alcohol, rebellion, dating standards, low self-esteem, academic achievements, choosing friends, goal setting, time management, and much more.

You can quickly scan the table of contents and find an immediate prayer to fit your concern. The scriptures are listed on the left page and then they are turned into prayers on the right-hand page.

The book says it is for the mothers of teens, but it is excellent for mothers of young adults, too. I have found it to be inspiring and encouraging to know that such a rebellious young man has been transformed into a person who could write a book like this.
