The Road To, No Where

by Sondra Kelly
11/21/2009 / Short Stories

I was traveling along Life Road. I came to the intersection of the road to No Where. I wondered, where could this road possibly lead to? I said, I better get back on Life Road before I get lost. The Road to No Where was dark, and gloomy. I could barely see where I was going. On Life Road, there is a light that is able to guide me through the darkness.

I traveled on the Road to No Where until I came to Steal Road. I decided to turn left onto Steal Road. At this point, I knew that I was lost. I kept traveling on Steal Road until I came to Kill Road. I thought, where am I? I need to find my way back to Life Road.

There was no one to help me find my way back to Life Road. These Roads that I was traveling were dark, and gloomy, I could not see my way. I kept traveling on Kill Road until I came to Destruction Road. I thought, maybe I should turn left onto Destruction Road. As soon as I was about to turn left onto Destruction Road, I saw a bright, shinning light; I wondered, what in the world is this? The light was so bright, it just about blinded me. Then I realized there was a person standing in the middle of Destruction Road, as if they were keeping me from making a left turn onto Destruction Road. The man whose face shinned so bright said, "you're going the wrong way, you need to make a right turn," he said, pointing his finger to the right. I said, well thank you sir, I am lost, I am trying to find my way back to Life Road, can you help me? "Sure, turn right; that is Salvation Road(on the other side of Destruction Road). When you turn right onto Salvation Road, you will see a man standing there. His name is Jesus. He will lead you back to Life Road. Jesus will travel with you on Life Road, through a town called Purpose. He will lead you to your final destination; to that city called The New Jerusalem. This is a beautiful city. The streets are paved with pure gold. The angels sing, "Holy! Holy! Holy!" all day long. The atmosphere demonstrates an awsome peace that flows like a river. You will see the Tree of Life that stands tall, the leaves shall never die. Nothing but righteousness dwells there. You will forever live with Jesus," the man said as he began to fade from my vision.

I am so glad that man stood in the middle of Destruction Road, keeping me from going down that road. I thank God that I am back on Life Road, headed for that great city, The New Jerusalem.
