Oh What Is Sin

by Jean Lopez
1/08/2010 / Christian Living

Oh what is sin
that we should embrace it so,
disregarding all its consequences,
from the beginning,
throughout the ages
and even until now?
How much better would life be for everyone in the world,
should we decide to truly love our neighbours, as we love ourselves.
And how much better would life be for everyone in the world,
should we truly decide to focus on our individual relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
And still, since the Son of God is not recognised by many,
how much better would life be if we consider the 10 commandments of God Himself and live by them.
Oh what is neighbourly love that my soul should yearn it so?
This neighbourly love that the Redeemer preached centuries ago surpasses religions and or customs, which divides rather than unite nations and people.
Neighbourly love does not produce wars, weapons of mass destruction or hatred.
Instead, love preserves. It takes care of, and it seeks and provides everything that is good,
an example God Himself demonstrated: He saw everything that He made and behold it was very good.
Oh what is sin?
As the word of God says, we wrestle not against flesh, but against the principalities and powers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.
These sins know nothing about self love, hence it encourages suicide, with the promise of virgins, spiritual wickedness turns heaven into a brothel and females into whores! murdering innocent people worldwide.
The same wickedness which permits governments to hoard wealth unto themselves and their friends, while its citizens starve to death.
Principalities takes away freedom and isolates, separates, indoctrinates.
The powers of darkness professes prosperity with bombs and guns, poisonous chemicals, military superiority. It breeds oppression, destruction and death.
The same sin declares freedom, then boldly promotes moral unrighteousness throughout all societies.
Oh what is sin that we should embrace it so?
Sin eats its own profits. Its balance sheet is always zero, it is never satisfied regardless of how much it gets, sin profits us nothing and the wages of sin is death.
While sin plunders and destroys, the God of creation said "Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth".
The God of creation told us how to live, and how to establish peace and prosperity
by giving us the first and greatest commandment
and the second is like unto it "thou shalt love thy neighbours as thyself".
The way of life which Jesus taught us is filled with love, but instead, society chose the ways of sin which has rewarded us with the global mess of a cesspool that only Gods grace can change, yet the world refuses to acknowledge Him.
Oh what is sin that we should embrace it so,
disregarding all the consequences from the beginning,
throughout the ages and even until now?
