Spirit mastery for our daily chrisian walk

by Patrick Oben
2/03/2010 / Devotionals

The Father has made us spirit, soul and body. The truth is that the believer's glory, beauty, victory and all that is in Christ for us come from his spirit being. We will truely not fullly experience what Christ paid for until we excel in this walk in the spirit.

To grasp what I want to drive across, please do the simple gestures I will ask you to do as YOU READ.

I would ask you to use your body NOW. Use any part of your body like clicking your mouse.Did you do something? Thank you. You realised it was YOU using your body.

I would ask you now to use your soul(mind) as you please. You can think of your church service last Sunday or imagine Christ coming in the clouds. Did you do that? Great. Did you realize again it was YOU having the power to USE you soul as you please.

Now, I would yet again ask you to do this again the third time. USE your spirit! Not sure what to do? See an example below.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.1Cr 14:14 , KJV

Our spirit has faculties and abilities like the soul and the body have theirs. Remember that it is OUR spirit, like the body is our body. We use our body and soul at our will. What happens if we grow to the point of using our spirit with this same level of mastery? The spirit can see, hear, speak, pray in its own sphere. This is the reason we MUST grow. We train ourselves in the Word and in prayer. As running exercizes your physical muscles, so those meditation in the Word and prayer exercizes your spirit man to build strong spiritual muscles.

But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 1Ti 4:7-8, KJV

Strong meat of the Word not the milk will take us there.Milk is for Babes in Christ to grow to adults. Crave for the Word.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Heb 5:13-14, KJV

This is what the whole creation is waiting for. Sons of God in manifestation. Men who glow from their spirit, not from their intellect or physical muscles.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.Rom 8:19, KJV

Those who will rule this world are those who will have a mastery of this realm of functioning. This is why we should yearn to grow into the fullness.
