I was an ordinary man
Just working as hard as I can
Kin and family around me
Was as happy as could be

Then I heard Him quite well
Leave country and family as well
To a foreign country I'm sending you
Trusting me is all you will do

How can I to foreign country go
Trusting a God I do not know
Promises to me He did make
Him at His word did I take

Will make you a great nation
As you take on this mission
Your name I will make great
Who tries to curse you I will abate

All the peoples of the earth
To whom Adam and Eve gave birth
Through you will blessings flow
That you obeyed me will they all know

Aged Seventy five I left my home
Lot and Sarai with me also came
With all I owned I did leave Haran
Heading by faith to the land of Canaan
