Jesus The Messiah
by Nellie Shani
6/08/2010 / Poetry
Twas Andrew who saw Jesus walking
While to John he was talking
Behold the Lamb of God
Sent on earth to be Lord
Andrew did not think twice
He had finally found the Christ
He looked for his brother Peter
Who also joined them later
Of Him the prophets of old did speak
Of the coming Messiah they all did teach
Walking the dusty streets of Jericho
His words with awesome power did echo
To blind men their sight He gave
Also raised a dead man from his grave
To women their dignity he restored
The woman at the well her story is told
To demons he brought terror
Showed the teachers of the law their error
Never paraded around as a boss
In humility died on a cross
He was bruised and forsaken
His love for granted taken
The blood he shed on that tree
Is still setting men free
