We find it difficult to comprehend undying love; in our what's in it for me generation, a pledge of love is hard to believe. Golden anniversaries become rare, as disillusioned discard hearts with yesterdays newspapers. We must never give up; true love involves commitment in good times and bad.
It may be time to recognize marriages that do work. Scandal sheets report the failures; look for those that succeed. Visit with a couple in their twilight years, or a widow alone after half a century; they have a story to tell. There were squabbles, silent treatments and maybe even nights sleeping on the couch. They stuck it out and romance blossomed into enduring love and devotion.
God offers the best of His love 'The mountains may disappear, and the hills may become dust, but my faithful love will never leave you. I will make peace with you, and it will never end. The Lord who loves you said this (Isaiah 54:10 ERV)."
