Loveable

Loveable

In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said to let the little children come unto Him, "for of such is the kingdom of heaven." And in chapter 18:4 He said that whoever would humble himself as a little child would be "greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Ephesians 5:1 says that we should be followers of God as dear children. And finally, according to 1 John 4:8, we know that God is love. The Bible truly is a love story.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:2-14 about a king that was preparing a marriage for his son. He sent servants to inform the guests that it was time for the wedding. But they did not arrive. So he sent more servants to tell the guests that a large feast was prepared and to please come to the wedding. The guests made light of the whole affair. Some went home and the others spoke harshly to the servants and finally killed them. When the king heard of this he sent out his armies and they took care of business. Then the king shouted, "The wedding is ready! Go and find whoever you can and get them to the wedding!!" It was very important to the king that there were guests at his son's wedding. It was also important that the guests were properly dressed for the occasion. They were to be wearing wedding garments. Without the proper attire they could not attend the wedding.

Jesus tells us about another wedding story in Matthew 25:1-10. This time He tells us about ten virgins that took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were wise and made sure they had oil in their lamps. The other five had no oil. The bridegroom didn't arrive until midnight and so the five with no oil could not light their lamps and see the bridegroom.

In Ephesians 5:25-33 we find that the church is the bride of Christ. She is being prepared for the marriage of the Lamb. God is providing us with the garments and the oil that we will need in order to attend the wedding. This is why Paul so strongly exhorts us in Romans twelve. The entire chapter is focused on the church's readiness to attend the marriage of the Lamb. To present ourselves at the wedding fit for a king. Loveable; as a little child, or a beautiful bride.

There is going to be a wedding. Revelation 19:7, "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come" And God's people will be ready. Isaiah 61:10, "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels."

Praise Jesus. Just want to share the Joy!
