CHRIST ESPOUSER: [STARTING A LIVE CHAT ON FACEBOOK] Hi Mary Madagascar!
MARY MADAGASCAR: Hey!
I was just busy in the lab. We can chat at lunch.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: [CHATTING SIMULTANEOUSLY] Are you able to chat?
MARY MADAGASCAR: You know what?
These days I feel the Spirit urging me to get up early to look for answers, but my body will be sooooooo weak.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: [CHATTING SIMULTANEOUSLY] I've jus send u an email.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Ok, just got it.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: I was watching the National Soccer Finals and they've just stopped the transmission to bring us some BREAKING NEWS. In Tanzania, a USA bound Sadbye Express Jumbo Jet has just plummeted at a primary school killing about 256 students and all the178 passengers on board!
MARY MADAGASCAR: O my God! Not again Africa! I hope at least there are some children that survived.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Details at this moment are still very sketchy.
MARY MADAGASCAR: With all these earthquakes, terrorisms, wars and disasters happening, I am now convinced the world is about to come to an end.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: I guess so. But it's not easy to tell since these kind of things have been happening for many centuries now.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Still such happenings push me to strive towards being in right standing with God.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: That reminds me. Before the breaking News you mentioned something about praying.
MARY MADAGASCAR: I am failing to wake up when the Holy Spirit stirs me up to pray.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Getting up is everyone's dilemma.
But do you know that any moment you don't wake up the devil would have stolen something from you?
MARY MADAGASCAR: Really!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: The Bible says if the owner of the house knew when the thief would be coming he would not have slept!
MARY MADAGASCAR: O my gosh! That's serious Espouser!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Also, Songs of Solomon speaks of the lady whose lover came to see her. However, she was already in bed. She didn't want to soil her feet being very mindful of the inconvenience.
MARY MADAGASCAR: That was mean for had travelled all the way just to see her! I wouldn't do such to my lover.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: You see she had just come from bathing. Back in those days there were no floor tiles, hence her hesitation to step with her clean feet on the dirty ground. However, by the time she changed her mind, her lover had gone away!
MARY MADAGASCAR: That's sad. What's so difficult about rewashing your feet! It's not like you have to wash the whole body!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Well, she later on tried desperately to find Him, but it was tough. She lost out on the blessings and good things and presents he had brought for her.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Foolish woman! Plucking down her house with her own hands!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: I think it's the same with your case of not waking up Mary Madagascar the Lord is your lover!
MARY MADAGASCAR: [REGRETFULLY] O my God! I never saw that way. O-o God, truly I am a sinner. I repent of my disobedience.
You know the promptings to wake up are so strong. Today I was like 'but God can't I just pray in bed?'
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Whoa!
MARY MADAGASCAR: I felt Him saying no, you have to go to the lounge and get on your knees.
I thought about how tired I was and that I would have to prepare for work early. It was 3:45 a.m. and I was debating till I fell asleep again!
[REGRETFUL] Oh no!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Do you know what happened when that 'Songs of Solomon' lady later on tried running after her lover? She was caught by some guards that night and beaten up!
MARY MADAGASCAR: Oh God please give me strength to wake up and pray!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: So, when we miss out the Holy Spirit's leading we miss out our blessings and also get punished by the devil or circumstances or authorities.
MARY MADAGASCAR: I can't afford to miss anything. I have missed so much already!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Actually, it has just hit me this waking up thing connects with the unfortunate Indian plane crash BREAKING NEWS we discussed earlier on.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Yes, I think I get it. You mean like when the Holy Spirit wakes us up, He will be having BREAKING NEWS from heaven. Just like how they interrupted the Soccer broadcast the Holy Spirit also sometimes interrupts our sleep. But with Him it will be for our good. Such that we may pray to deliver, defend and develop ourselves.
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Rightly spoken. Do you know that the God can even break a prophecy being given in church by sending yet another fresh prophecy?
MARY MADAGASCAR: How? I thought the Holy Spirit does things in order. He must surely wait for the first person to finish and then reveal to the next person isn't that so?
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Read 1Corinthians 14. The opposite of what you are saying is the kind of order that God wants in His church. You see the manifestation of the Spirit is like a cloud full of rain that empties itself on the ground below it. Our duty is to receive all the prophecies contained in that cloud before it drifts away.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Really!
CHRIST ESPOUSER: We do not have to concentrate on an earlier given prophecy (for we'll already be having it; the only thing left will be for it's expounding but that can always be done later) lest the presence departs before we have received all that was meant for us from God.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Where do you get all this staff from?
CHRIST ESPOUSER: From the Bible.
I am sure you'll find today's devotional very appropriate - it talks about commitment and its benefits. I will be sending it out to all group members around 11 am.
I now have to go. The soccer is now back live on TV. Check you later.
MARY MADAGASCAR: You mean to tell me soccer is now more important than the spiritual things we are sharing?
CHRIST ESPOUSER: Yoo! Rangers have just scored an equaliser! Y-e-s! It's now 1-1 with only 2 minutes to go. What a miracle! I believed God for at least a draw and He has answered.
MARY MADAGASCAR: Stop justifying your soccer addiction! You chose soccer over me. Treat others as you would love them to treat you. Bye.
