The Christmas wreath adds color and decoration to doors of homes, churches and business locations. They come in a large assortment of sizes and colors, from basic greenery with silk bows to elaborate decorative pieces hand crafted by those with artistic flair. Contests give owners of the winning festive door hangings special recognition, including gift or cash prizes.
Bethlehem's Christmas child grew to world's sacrificial Lamb of God. A wreath of thorns crowned his head as he bore my sin and shame. "They made a crown out of thorn branches and placed it on his head (Matthew 27:29a CEV)."
In mockery, soldiers hung twisted thorns upon him. Their minds were twisted, distorting the truth of God in their midst. Thank you, Lord Jesus; you hung upon the cross for me. Christmas wreaths are reminders of your woven crown, which bore crimson bloodstains of love.
