It's more than a difficult experience to have to endure interrogation when you are an innocent person. Throughout history innocent people have suffered continuously and most of the times it is a result of making this world a better place for everyone else. Although unfair, it has been proven time and time again that people are not innocent until proven guilty but that people are guilty until proven innocent. Regardless, those taken for interrogation are suspects. The Miranda Warning is a warning that is required to suspects who are taken by law BEFORE they are interrogated.

The Miranda Warning typically states, "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?" Some states have enacted another clause that reads "We have no way of giving you a lawyer, but one will be appointed for you, if you wish, if and when you go to court."

Having to endure a Miranda Warning is needless to say frightening for an innocent person, however, before the Miranda Warning was ever enacted in 1966 it was put into practice over 1500 years prior. An innocent person showed us how to handle a Miranda Warning. John Chapter 19 verses 9 thru 10 reads: and he went back inside the palace. "Where do you come from?" he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. "Do you refuse to speak to me?" Pilate said. "Don't you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?" Jesus, the innocent person, was under interrogation. While many of us celebrate Jesus' birth we must consider the life that He lived. Jesus' who healed the sick, raised the dead, and gave release to those who were bound by the enemy's plots and traps; was under interrogation. In this chapter it was Pilate who had him beat severely, while soldiers put a crown of thorns on his head and put him in a purple robe! Then Pilate brought him before the chief priests and their officials and they began to shout, "Crucify Him"? What happens when you realize that the very one has been given the authority to do what is right doesn't and hands you over to allow someone else to handle it? When we finally arrive at verse 9, Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent! Pilate heard the leaders say that the Jesus' was claiming to be the Son of God! Pilate was afraid because Pilate already knew that Jesus' was not like most men and that there was something different about Jesus. In verse 9, Pilate asks Jesus where He comes from. Jesus' says nothing. Some questions aren't worth answering especially when the one doing all the questioning already knows!

Pilate reminds Jesus of his power and Jesus then answers, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above" Jesus knew His authority but most important He knew of the Authority of the One who sent Him! When you find yourself in the position of being innocent and under interrogation, never forget who has all power! God, having all power allows it to happen. Why? The answer is in the same chapter verse 30. It happens so that it can be finished! The chapter is closing completely and while the chapter is closing the book is not over because in the very next chapter, John 21: 19- we find the disciples in a locked up situation but Jesus gets in the middle of their situation and says, "NO MORE" to them being locked up and with this He gives them a PAC: Peace, Assurance, and a Commission:

John: 20:19-21
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
