James 5 Vs 16 'Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

by Marie Grossett

I go to a church where only one lady opens up to the whole congregation concerning her short comings so we can pray for her. I can honestly say I really respect and admire her for this, and because of her influence I'm starting to open up more to my brethren concerning my faults.

But why is it we don't open up to each other as often as we should? Well one of the things I conclude could be because of trust. Some people might be scared of being judged. Isn't it sad that we cannot trust each other, and doesn't this need to be address if that is the case?

Another thing I concluded is maybe a person might not know the people they fellowship with enough. But by now shouldn't we know each other enough? Know what the other person likes and dislikes not keep ourselves closed in. How can we pray and encourage each other if we don't know what is going on in each other lives?

This can cause division amongst the body of Christ. Don't you know this is what Satan wants? We must not judge each other as the bible states in Matthew 7:1 '"Do not judge, or you too will be judged." But that's not to say that we cannot give righteous judgement as the Bible does state that we can give righteous judgement according to God's word.

If someone confesses their sin to us it's important to understand why they did it. As the Bible states in Proverbs with all thy knowledge get understanding and then we must pray for them.

We must continue to show love no matter what as this is the second greatest commandment that Jesus told us to do and that was to love one another as he loves us and by this all men will know that we are his disciples. Let's get pass the 'holier than thou', as we know that our righteousness is like filthy rags to God.

If you are a person that has trouble confessing your sins and wants someone to talk to but don't know who pray about it. God will lead you to somebody.

So church let us start uniting, let us open up ourselves more to one another and continue to pray for each other. As united we stand divided we fall.
