shuffled tired feathers
via journey's early light
through morning mist
over sheep, staring donkeys,
hurled against the wind.
Exhausted wings drew her
to an activity of red polls,
sparrows, finches
and a woodpecker's tattoo,
primary for her attention
a snack or two presenting
itself. Suddenly without
fanfare nor nasty intentions,
released herself to new spaces.
