Spring arrives in a parade of
ice-chunks looking like
chopped up mushrooms
within the harbour.
From Economy Mountain our
binoculars focus on
winter's lingering stare as
fields of hay huddle
beneath the snow
in bewildered disarray
weathered houses
are random sprinkles, crows,
deer, a cat, all foraging
for space within our view.
Blueberry fields showcase
peeking purple tinges, through
masking white.
