From his usual squat-spot
Jolly Jones tries hard to consider
today's menu,
enough for at least a bite,
any kind of handout. Perhaps
a coffee at the local diner--
hard to imagine
him not working his corner
by the bus stop, eyes attracting
sympathy, hoping
they'll see his floppy shoes
and second hand taste in clothing.
Aha, another customer.
