Who Stole Our Peace of Mind

by
4/23/2011 / Christian Living

Peace of mind is the most sought after commodity in this life time. Man is constantly on the quest looking for ways and means to be happy, while in a state of restlessness.
Our peace has been absorbed into nothingness, because of an egotistical angel who tried to exalt his throne above the stars. He ruptured a peaceful web woven by the creator, whose intention was for man to walk in unison with him.
He who was a covering Cherub, started the first polemic war and was subsequently cast out of his first habitat. He manipulated 1/3 of the angelic hosts into being his cohorts and, they suffered the same consequence. Their allegiance to him forced them to be accessories to his crime of blasphemy against the Holy One. This controlling freak, whose name is Lucifer, led thousands of angels to receive their deserving pink slips from Jehovah.
The amazing question is, "how did Lucifer assume this satanic nature, when Jehovah made him perfect in his ways"? The answer is, "he was given a will to choose, and he chose to adopt this nature as he allowed pride to enter his heart".
The war he started in heaven is being continued on earth and would finally end here. His vengeance against God for evicting him from the heavenly environment, is promoting him to act more viciously against mankind, as the end of time draws near. Whatever he does, his sentence still remains the same, for he and his instigators would be cast into everlasting flame at the end time. The question is, "how many more will join them"? He knew his act of conspiracy against the creator would have been consequential but, his pride and ego boosted him to make false allegations against the very one who is responsible for creating him.
The dethroned Satan was so consumed with fiery rage, that he designed a plan to spoil Jehovah's handiwork, thus postponing the Master's divine plans. He, who was perfectly made, was right there in the Garden of Eden, with the perfect couple, who were living and having the most perfect communion, with their perfect father, in a perfect setting.
Being jealous of the relationship this couple had with Jehovah, Satan's next act of perversion was to concoct a lie to deceive them. He chose to corrupt this couple with his treachery and debauchery, of which they fell victim. His lies depicted Jehovah as a withholder of truth and they believed him.
He chose not to mind his own business, instead he intercepted Jehovah's divine plan, to gain vengeance and to repair his wounded ego. Had he admitted he was wrong to start a war against God's heavenly host and repented, would God have forgiven, punished and re-instated him? Would God still have nurtured ill feeling against this Cherub? I don't think so. God does not nourish any grievance neither does he excavate any wounds. But Satan, on his on his way to hell, couldn't stop what he had started, because he had lost his peace of mind.
Such a beautiful and perfect specimen created by a loving father, chose his own pathway, rather than choosing the designated path of the omniscient God.
What caused him to choose such pathway, when God did not instill any selfish desires in him? Among the other angels, there he was praising the father with selfish motives in his heart. The big question is, "why" The answer is, "pride and jealousy". His peace of mind was disturbed by the jealousy he had against his own creator. Although he had a rich and fulfilled life, his jealousy had him restless.
Where did that spirit come from, when everything was perfect? That spirit of error is a spirit of failure and the unanswered question is, "how did it contaminate such a perfect and congenial specimen"? It is said that an empty mind is the devil's workshop, but whose workshop is the devil's mind? And if evil starts in the mind, where did that evil originate before it entered his once perfect mind? Lastly, "How long did he debate before his action was put into motion"? He had a lot of wasted time to inculcate all those evil thoughts before he executed them.
His intention was to alter the course of God's plan, with which he temporarily succeeded but, after his death sentence was sanctioned he became more vicious, conquering souls to join him. He is everywhere perverting the ways of unbelievers, leaving them as restless as he is. However, there is hope for all those who seek God's peace, for one day we shall be rid of him, when he is cast into that special place, reserved for him and his entourage.
Satan may have won the battle in the Garden of Eden but at the cross, he lost the war. Mercy and truth met him right there and, righteousness and peace openly kissed each other, while he danced in victory, at his most horrendous act of crucifying our Savior. Was he aware that the cross would have been the center of believers' lives? I don't think so.
The cross upholds the principles of God's laws and demonstrates his love and justice. It was there where God's immutable character was vindicated and displayed and, his perfect love met with Satan's wrath. Its historical event exposed Satan as the murderer but, because of it, our salvation could be achieved, if we remain obedient to the will of God.
It is an established fact that, because of the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross, we have the choice of aligning ourselves with Christ and his governing principles, so we may enjoy his peace. If not, we could align with Satan and his governing principles to remain restless until the time of our annihilation. Also, we must bear in mind that sin is a violation of God's character and, the principles of his law cannot be set aside, if we want to have peace of mind.
