Where Is Jesus?

by Donald Mehl
9/26/2006 / Prophecy

When Jesus was born about 2000 years ago, Mary had to deliver Him in a stable because there was no room for them in the inn. Jesus was born among the animals along with the stench, filth and the noise of that dimly lit place. Truly that was a most lowly and humble earthly beginning for the One who would become the King of Kings and Lord of Lords over all. Throughout His 33 years here on earth He owned nothing except the clothes on His back and lived a most humble life. He was despised, hated, rejected, and then finally tortured and killed for who He said He was and for His teachings on sin, repentance, forgiveness, and the only way of salvation through Him.

Now 2000 years later, He is despised, hated and rejected more than ever. Today there is an organized rapidly increasing and intense effort to remove the Name of God, Jesus and all they stand for from all society. The politically correct mindset of today has also blinded many, if not most people, to the truth.

During Christmas when we should celebrate the birth of Jesus, many are not inviting the guest of honor nor are they permitting Him to have any part of it. The focus is on parties, shopping, gaudy displays, happy holidays and secular music. When Christmas falls on a Sunday, some churches even cancel their morning worship service. When Jesus was born He was laid in a manger in a stable. Today it seems the world is trying to stuff Him in a box and hide Him away in a back room someplace where He can be forgotten and replaced.

Even though Jesus has all knowledge, He is being kicked out of our schools and universities. Creation, prayer, Bibles, Christian music or any other mention of Him is simply not permitted.

One day He will judge all mankind, but today He has been thrown out of our courtrooms and the halls of justice most everywhere. The Ten Commandments cannot be displayed nor can jurors read the Bible during a trial.

He is being forced out of the public square every day. Ten Commandment displays are being removed, nativity scenes are disappearing and other Christian messages are offensive to many. God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for all people for all time, but they are now mocked and no longer honored or obeyed.

The Bible is considered hate literature in many locations and cannot be preached as it must be preached. Certain lifestyles cannot be called sinful nor can the true gospel message of salvation as the one and only way be preached. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me". That statement now is politically incorrect, intolerant and offensive to many. During Jesus ministry, He certainly was not concerned about political correctness, and He said it exactly like it must be said today.

Prayer in most public settings cannot mention the Name of Jesus because of sensitivity and tolerance issues. Military Chaplains as well as others can no longer end their prayers in Jesus Name. The Bible teaches that all prayers must be prayed in Jesus Name to be heard. Without it, those prayers are in vain and will not even leave the room.

Churches everywhere are now teaching warm, fuzzy, watered down, feel-good messages, all carefully selected to appeal to the masses without offending anyone. It would seem they are more interested in attendance numbers than in preaching the whole counsel of God as He requires. Non-believers can attend a church service for an hour and then leave without ever hearing the message of the gospel, or why they need to be saved, or how go about it. That is just plain wrong!

The day may come soon when the few remaining Bible preaching churches will be forced to change their message, or close their doors, or meet for worship in secret private locations. Of course, not all churches would be affected because many are already preaching a lukewarm message. Also, the day might come soon when it would be illegal to possess Bibles or other Christian materials in our own home. How much of Gods Word have we committed to memory? It could be all that we would have left. We need to think about that.

There are many more examples that could be listed and its very sad to see these things take place. However, the Bible says that in the end days all these things must happen. Once again Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes, but most people are not paying attention.

During Jesus teaching about the end times in Matt. 24:10-12 (NKJV), He said the following: (v10) "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. (v11) Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. (v12) And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold". Acts 20:29,30 tells us that savage wolves will come in among you and from among you men will rise up speaking perverse things. 1 Tim. 4:1 says that in the end times some will abandon the faith to follow deceivers and liars. 2 Tim. 4:3,4 warns us the time will come when people wont endure sound doctrine, they will turn from the truth and will hear what they want to hear. Just look around and you can see all of these things happening today exactly as prophesied almost 2000 years ago!

Then in Luke 7:23 (NKJV), Jesus said, "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me". 2 Tim. 3:14 warns that we must continue holding fast to the faith. In Luke 11:28 Jesus tells us that blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it.

So, where is Jesus today? The good news is that He hasnt gone anywhere. No matter how much the unbelieving world tries to destroy or ignore Him, He is very much alive and well in the hearts of all true believers. Does He live in your heart today? If He is truly there, then the Apostle Paul in Rom. 8:38,39 tells us the following: (v38) For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, (v39) nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus, that Name above all names, Lord of Lords and King of Kings will rule and reign forever and of His Kingdom there will be no end. Praise God!

During retirement, my prayer is that I might serve the Lord by sharing the Gospel through my writing. As the Lord leads, my work will inform, challenge and encourage. I also enjoy Biblical theme woodcarving, Bible studies and Christian music. Watch, pray and keep looking up!
