Tumbling backwards
from a comfortable
seat on a fallen
bough allows me
to quickly contemplate
the possibility of a
harsh arrest
and I do land
with a forceful thump.
Thankfully only
my hand feels sharp
pain from
an imbedded twig.
As I lay on a carpet
of moist leaves
sky's blue
sifts through layers
of autumn where
trembling aspen twirl
and dance for me.
