RESPONSE TO THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES TEACHING ON BEING BORN AGAIN

by Jeremiah opusunju
6/28/2011 / Christian Living

1. The Jehovah witnesses preach that believers do not need to be born again to inherit the kingdom of God on earth. During this dispensation of grace, this teaching is a perversion of the gospel of Christ.

Jesus Christ said that no one will see or enter into the kingdom of God (whether in heaven or on earth) during the dispensation of grace (the period of the gospel of Christ) without being born again (John 1:9-13; 3:3-19; 1Peter 2:13; Galatians 1:6-9).

2. Therefore the little flock which Christ spoke about are his disciples, who heard his voice and followed him (Luke 12:22-32; John 10:1-15).

Speaking of his purpose for coming to the earth, Christ said he came for sinners and not for righteous people of the world. He did not come just for the Israelites but for the whole world (John 1:1-11). As such he came to wash the sinners in the world with his blood (Luke 5:31-32; John 1:9 - 13, 29; 3:14-17).

Since Christ came for the world which he created (his own), he will use this little flock to bring more flock into his sheep fold. Therefore the little flock will increase to one big flock covering the whole earth (John 10:16-17).

So, before his death, Jesus prayed that both the little flock and the other flock to join them later, will be with him in heaven (John 17:6-24).

Therefore heaven is not for the little flock alone; But for as many as believe in him all over the world within the period of the gospel of Christ

3. These unnumbered flock of Christ from all over the earth, washed by the Blood of Jesus (Sinners made holy by the death and resurrection of Christ) and made kings and priests unto God will be redeemed to heaven (Revelation1:5-6; 5:8-10). Bringing to and end the era of the gospel of Christ on earth(Matthew24:37-42; 1Thessalonians 4:15-5:3).

4.Remember that Enoch and Elijah did not die on earth before they were taken up to heaven by God; so also some members of the flock of Christ will still be alive on earth, when they will be caught up (redeemed) to heaven (Genesis 5:24; 2Kings 2:9-12; 1Thessalonians 4:15-5:3; Philippians 3:20-21).

5.So, it is not true that the 144,000 redeemed to heaven are the little flock of Christ. These ones were redeemed after the flock of Christ were redeemed (Revelation 5:8-10 compare 14:1-3).

These 144,000 came from the twelve tribes of Israel (Revelation 7:1-8); they were Jews who will be self righteous while on earth (Virgins; who never lied, blasphemed or sin against God). They will be the first humans to be redeemed from the earth as a result of their righteous works.

Remember Christ came for sinners, whom he made righteous. He did not come for these righteous Jews. Therefore, they are not his flock and so were not made kings and priests.

6.Under the dispensation of grace (the gospel of Christ) everyone not born again, is condemned (John 3:3-19, Galatians 1:6-9).

However, before and after the gospel of Christ, God's people are made righteous by works, therefore, the people of God all through the ages will live by three distinct gospels.

First: The gospel of Moses; which Moses preached to the Jews in Egypt including its laws which governed the people of God until the death of Jesus Christ. (Romans 2:1-3:21; Galatians 3:23 - 28; 4:19-5:4).

Second: The gospel of Christ; which Christ mediated for all humanity - including its laws which will govern the people of God until the redemption (snatching away or rapture) of the body of Christ from the earth (John 17:20-24; Revelations 5:8-10).

Third: The everlasting gospel of the kingdom; which will be preached by the 144,000 special Jews and the angels of God all through the nations of the earth after the redemption of the body of Christ (Matthew 24:14; Revelation 14:6-7).

Of these three gospels, only the gospel of Christ is a gospel of grace (free salvation by faith) and it is the only provision made by God for humans to be born again and become sons of God.

So any one not born again during this dispensation of the gospel of Christ; will not enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:4-6, 14-20; Galatians 1:8-9; 5:4).

Any one, at this dispensation, who wants to see or enter the kingdom of God (whether in heaven or on earth), must be born again. Therefore during this era of the gospel of Christ, only the sons of God (those born again) will inherit the kingdom of God.

More so, the truth is that the kingdom of God to be inherited by these sons of God, will be on earth with God (Revelation 19:7 - 22:4).

Like the Ark of Noah, heaven is simply a temporary place of abode for them pending the cleansing of the earth by God (1Thessalonians 3:12-13; Colossians 3:1-3; Revelation 5:8-10; 19:7-22:4; Zechariah 14:5).

7.Therefore, the saints and the Martyrs of the gospel of Moses as well as those of the gospel of the kingdom (who died before the return of Christ), will be the ones to be resurrected when Christ returns with the redeemed saints; at the first resurrection (Daniel 12:1-3; Hosea 6:1-2; Revelation 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 19:7-20:6).

These resurrected saints and their human counterparts (Jews and Gentiles) who survived after the cleansing of the earth by God (Psalms 37:9-11), are those whom the Sons of God (as joint heirs with Christ) will rule over on earth.

Their human population will grow rapidly through child birth to the extent that by the end of the a thousand year reign, the disgruntled ones among them will be like the sand of the sea shore. These are those to join Satan in his final rebellion against Christ and his flock (Revelation 20:7-10).

As such, God is currently recruiting only Sons into his kingdom (Hebrews 2:9-11). Therefore anyone not born again will be eternally condemned (John 3:4-19; Galatians 1:6-9).
