Left early this morning
to search out any old farm
abandoned yet alive
in it's natural heritage.
From those early pages
I sought to explore such
homestead treasures
with memories left in
haste as they moved on.
One such find yielded an
old well with fallen items
scattered in disarray
also rusting implements
worthy of season's beyond
used by hardened settlers
who came before my time.
Now I am one in urgent need
escaping across that same
old ridge of possibilities
wagon ruts teasing me on.
