"Wait Upon The Lord"

by Steve Countryman
7/06/2011 / Christian Living

Nothing can separate you from the love of God. God who cares enough about you that He not only knows you better than you know you but God wants to be involved in EVERY decision you make. Not just the big ones but ALL of them. When Jesus lives within you it is in every day living. It is the habitation of the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father. Not visitation like on most Sundays but a daily habitation. "But I'm not worthy of God's habitation?" Jesus makes you worthy and deserving. Sin and un-forgiveness are the two things that will remove you from God's presence in your life. I said His presence not His love. The truth about removing God's presence is that God doesn't remove Himself from us but by our sin and un-forgiveness that we remove ourselves from His presence. Holding un-forgiveness or staying offended in your heart against someone means that God can forgive you your sins but you cannot forgive others whom have sinned or wronged you. By doing so you elevate yourself to be higher than God. Mark 11:24-25 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins." God never leaves us. In fact He is always there waiting for you to turn back to Him with His arms wide open.

To really grow in the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to work through you, you must establish a daily walk with God, study His Word and rid yourself of sinful habits and all un-forgiveness. That is what I experienced back on 2004 when I was teaching a John Bevere's "Bait of Satan" series class which is all about holding un-forgiveness/offense and how you must forgive and release people who have wronged you. That is when God showed me an old offense in my life that I had never addressed. God couldn't work through me, as He wanted until I got rid of ALL of my trash, offenses and obstacles that were in the way. "whatever you ask for in prayerand when you stand prayingforgive him" will help get your prayers through and allow God to work through you!

It has to be a "natural" thing to try to figure out and visualize what the moving of God's Spirit should be like when He pours out the Holy Spirit on all flesh. There seems to be so much that needs to happen first before that can happen. That is the flesh talking. We serve a God of the impossible, God who makes possible out of the impossible. The church body, that is all of us His children, will be in perfect unity, agreement and alignment with God's Word, the Holy Spirit and God's perfect will that will usher in the powerful movement of the Holy Spirit world wide. My spirit knows that I don't have to see it with my natural eyes to know when or how it will happen. My God said it will and I know it will. It will happen so quickly that regardless what petty differences we may have between all of the Christian religions, we all have one thing in common and that is that we serve and love the one and only true God and believe on Him!

"Wait upon the Lord." "Wait" doesn't mean to go to sleep or to become useless or dormant. "Wait" means to wait on someone as to serve them in this case to serve the Lord continuously. Pray, declare and read out loud His Word every time you read it, for there is power in the spoken Word! The world is starving for a supernatural encounter. The problem is that they are looking in the wrong places and at false gods/demons for an encounter. The harvest is great but the workers are few. We are God's representatives of His kingdom. When people see and hear you they should know by your actions and your words that there is something totally different about you. You have a peace and joy when all other "normal" people are full of fear and doubt. You always show mercy and compassion when helping others. You never "bad mouth" others or spread rumors about friends or co-workers. You always get upset at injustice, immorality and sinfulness with righteous indignation. You never condone in silence bad behavior when it is made known to you. You always encourage and support others who are in need of helpful advice. You have no problem praying for someone when you feel the Spirit nudge you. You lay hands on the sick and they are healed. You cast out demons. You help to disciple others who are new in Christ. Your ministry is wherever you go or happen to be. You are always responsive to God's voice in total obedience. You are a child of the Most High God! So remove ALL of the obstacles that are in the way of God working mightily through you today. It is time to stand!
