YOU DESERVE BETTER

by John Seun

A man passed by a boutique on his way to work one day and saw a very good dress that his wife will fit in perfectly, he stopped to access the dress and found that the dress was within his grasp (financially). Quickly, he paid for the dress, sent the receipt to his wife through his driver and informed the shop owner that his wife will come and pick it before the end of the day. A week after he heard his wife murmuring about how worn her dresses are and he asked her: "what about the dress I bought for you a week ago" and she said "still at the boutique". Please who do you think is at fault?

We often grumble about how miserable our lives have become, how difficult things are but we fail to accept responsibility for them.

The truth is as Christians we have everything but many take possession of nothing. The Bible says 'all things are now ready'. Luke 14:16-17: 16Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

Jesus died for us to live in abundance; he died so we can enjoy life not to endure life. In John 3:16 the Bible made the divine intention of God for the death of Christ very clear: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. You don't only perish when u die but you perish when you live in: poverty, sin, frustration, depression, confusion, etc. and that is an embarrassment to God. It is an embarrassment for a wealthy man to see his child beg around for food.

I remember a story of a man who was on a 24hrs journey aboard an aircraft and because he thought he must pay for any meal he takes on board he always tell the waiters "nothing" when asked what he cared to take. Few minutes before landing, the man beside him asked: "are you fasting sir? Because I noticed you did not take a meal" and he answered: "no I am not fasting, I just did not have extra money to pay for the meal". The second passenger laughed hilariously and said: "sir you paid for the meal alongside your ticket" by this time the plane had already landed and the man left fussing in regrets.

Your account is full. All you need to do every morning is lift up your hands and say God do not let the purpose of the death of your beloved son Christ Jesus be in vain, let me enjoy life today. Remember, 'ask and you shall be given". And just because you believe in Him (Christ Jesus) you are not permitted to perish.

May God release upon you the grace to live as a true child of God. Amen.
