Spiritual Basic Training: Call To Arms
by chris benjamin 8/12/2011 / Christian Living
"I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your namethe name you gave meso that they may be one as we are one" (John 17:11). Welcome to the first day of spiritual basic training. United we are through our Savior Jesus Christ to our Lord God Almighty. He is the only way to everlasting salvation that God has promised all his children. We must come together as brothers and sisters of the faith physically, mentally, and spiritually to reach our final victory for God. The victory of saving our souls and achieving God's will for us. How are we to do that? It is not a mystery. It is not hidden from us. The knowledge of God's holy Word is waiting for us in the Bible. We can succeed, and we will succeed, when we make the decision to start a new life in Jesus Christ. The transformation can start by beginning with the basics of training ourselves spiritually. Starting now we can empower ourselves to win the fight for our lives and for our brothers and sisters of the world.
Our spiritual training is meant to center us in God in our hearts, minds, souls, thoughts, and lives. Take notice that from now on there will be limited references to I, me, my, you, and yours throughout the spiritual training other than in the Scriptures. It is not about you or I anymore if we want to live worthy lives in God's eyes. It is about us putting God at the center of our lives in all matters, seeking and accomplishing his will, and uniting in that purpose as faithful soldiers. Our spiritual basic training will be a process that is not time specific. It may take longer for some to accomplish than others, and that is fine. We all are unique to our own situations in life.
To truly succeed at this spiritual basic training, we must apply each mission wholeheartedly into our lives. Every mission during the spiritual training is designed to make us step confidently forward on the righteous path to God. Take advantage of the mission notes to reflect on the events of each mission. Write down what we did well, and what we can improve on in the future. It will help to put our thoughts down so we may help others in the future.
Our calling is clear throughout the Bible to live for God first. He is the One who has graced us with everything we have. Take notice of his blessings. Everyone take a look around at the world we live in today. Is it what we expected it to be when we were young and looking through the eyes of youthful innocence? No, the world is moving into a place where God is not first in our thoughts and lives anymore. It is our responsibility as believers to reach out and take back the world we want for ourselves and for the future generations to come. Do not become complacent in our duties to God and to his children. The time is now to start the change back to true oneness with God. Individually we can accomplish much, but when we are united with our spiritual brothers and sisters through Jesus, there is nothing in the world that can slow us down. So let us pick up the pace together as the faithful and take back our world from corruption and sin.
"'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours'" (Mark 11:2224). When we believe in anything wholeheartedly, remarkably it will be so as Jesus said. Our lives will be transformed by God's mercy and grace. We will make this world a better place for ourselves and for all of God's children for his glory. Here it is! Here is our chance to make a positive difference in our lives and for our brothers and sisters of the world! The path of righteousness is open to all and the way is lit by God's word. It is now up to us to make the decision to take the first step of triumphant faith. Are we to stand by content with the way our lives and the world are becoming? Do not accept the defeat trying to be dealt by the evil of the world! Stand up and unite with each other through the Holy Spirit and seize victory from the enemy of God's righteousness! We have the power of choice to make dramatic changes in our lives through God's divine wisdom and strength. Call upon God sincerely, and he will answer us. We will be champions of the faith and willing to endure until Jesus Christ our Savior calls us to heaven. Choose to accept into our hearts the spiritual basic training necessary to make God's light shine on the world through our faith and good works.
