MY JESUS TOUCHED ME AGAIN

by SIXTUS ONYEANUSI
9/19/2011 / Christian Living

A fresh touch from Jesus.
A touch of revival.
A touch of renewal.
...renewal of love, fire and desire for more of Jesus.

I've risen and jumped back from weakness to strength...from fear to faith...now a fire brand.

We need a touch from Him as often as we could.

A touch from Jesus renews your love for Him once more.

We need to touch who touched us.

Until we apprehend Him, let's not give up!

I attended a camp meeting; a non-denominational solemn assembly of disciples of the Lord Jesus tagged "Arise, Go Back To Bethel." 8th-11th Sept, 2011.

It was glorious; so reviving!

The word of God came in power! The Spirit pointed out to me the need to go back to Bethel.

Bethel, a place of earlier unfeigned encounter with divinity...where we deliberately and gloriously experienced angels descending and ascending upon us when we first believed.

A place where we made promises to God as we began the journey or rather the race to His destination.

A place where God changed our names, thus transformed our destinies.

A place where we ''wrestled'' (travained, persevered and prevailed) with God, thus were captivated and ''wounded'' in our tigh and imprinted the mark of God in Christ.

A place where we laid our head on the rock, and that rock was Christ.

A place where we poured oil upon "stones''-tablets of our hearts, and firmly affirmed to raise a strong and holy altar for the Living God of Abraham and Isaac (and us).

A place where we secured the favour of God before the face of our arch-enemy ''Esau'', and in turn touched the material blessings of God.

Going back to Bethel makes our walk and work with God better and sweeter; it makes us to become again conscious of the promises we made to God, and also the promises God made to us.

It bridges the gap that has for long been created by our self-will.

Arise, go back to Bethel is a call to renew our consecration with the Living God who had appeared unto us in our hearts by faith in His sure word; it helps us go deeper in our fellowship with the Spirit of God.

To father Jacob of old, it was Bethel he needed to rush back to. But to us in the new covenant, it is our "first love" we need to be pushed back to....the "first love" must be recovered.

The Ephesian Church were sound in doctrine, yet committed in labour and "effective" in ministry; they could graciously still dish out mysteries of Christ and fish out men of "Nicolatians"; heretic men, men that hold the truth of God's word in unrighteousness, with the leaven of maliciousness and covetousness.

Who would ever make this Biblically sound and active Church believe they have slipped away unnoticed from their "first love" of the Jesus they serve day and night.

This their great omission and inward decay came to them by revelation specially by the Lord Jesus.

They would not have discovered this decay, and recovered from it except it was told them by revelation and conviction.

We may be full of activities, but lacking greatly in the full backing of divinity.

Oh Jesus, take me back more to my first love.
That sincere and unfeigned love.
That unconditional love.

That complete love unto obedience and communion I had with you, and never substituted it with anything else.

That inward propelling love that was compelling me to match onward with you unconditional...even when lagging behind in the goods of this world...in hunger, in perils, in persecution, under the sun or rain, down the valleys and over the hills, I could stand to testify my love for you.

That childlikeness that makes me cheerful, full of hope no matter what may come my way, no matter the humiliation I may be faced with for belonging to you, I remained unruffled and yet humbly and joyfully share my love for Jesus with all men, everywhere without shame but with blessed assurance that Jesus is mine.

That first love that couldn't be hidden. I couldn't be somewhere for some minutes and the world around me won't obviously see that I'm in love with Jesus. Not just in words alone, but in practical lifestyle of virtue, adorned with grace and joy; loving, helping people unconditionally.

Oh, my delight in Him!

In the camp, God's word came powerfully, convicting us of our coldness and sluggishness!

The Spirit of prayer came with burden. We cried out to God to help our infirmities and "busyness".

The fat and lid in our soul were melted; our prayerlessness was busted open.

The Spirit of praise came with joy. That spirit that came upon David when he was returning the Ark of the Lord.

Oh, what a joy! Sweet joy. Joy unspeakable!
The joy of salvation was poured in afresh and agreat!

You needed to have seen me praising my Jesus in the African way.......my waist got real down...lol.... I put up some dancing steps, glorifying God for His wondrous mercies and blessings, especially the great privilege of knowing Him.
It's a treasure I most cherish.

I love Jesus more and more...and reverentially fear the Lord God. These are what a genuine Revival ought to result!!

Jesus is sweeter day by day...what a hope of glory I behold coming from His way.

Now I feel something burning hot inside me. It's keeping me restless. It cries out to express Jesus' saving gospel.

It's propelling.
It's compelling.
I feel fire.
It makes Christ more of what I desire!
