baking biscuits and I'm
in the back yard
getting kindling, arthritis
not friendly each time
I bend, pain
reminding me
eighty no longer young,
grandson gone
to town some milk
for tea, nice kid
best of the lot, scary
how quickly he's
growing.

pretty soon he'll not
be visiting, since I won't be
around for a chat, only
bits of wood chips
left behind, a reminder
we sat here a while.
