Clouds layer in coloured streaks
as evening signals another day's end
noisy front-end loaders stilled
no longer tormenting an expanse
of primeval timber. Then burnished
pines guard silhouettes atop a wilderness
of ancient sunsets. Sky reddens
to yellowish tinge and from drifting
canoes, our faces lift in awe.

I really enjoyed and appreciated this poem. It is very real, quiet and still touched my soul without being saccharin. Thanks and keep writing. God's peace to you. Rev. NPR
