Traveling toward far places without leaving home,
She takes subconscious vacations.
The fantasy world created in her head
Provides relief from environmental distress.
Pretending she lives in a Beaver Cleaver family,
Daydreaming of parents who love each other.
Imagining she is beautiful and successful,
Entertaining androgynous lovers in the moonlight.
Being obsessed with fantasy she escapes from reality,
Basking in imaginary desires when her eyes are closed.
Too many betrayals by flesh and blood people so
She invents a make-believe palace void of rejection.
I choose reality.
Melissa writes about the God and human connection and condition.
