Loving her adoptive mother,
Longing for her birth mother.
Of a Beaver Cleaver family.
Why did she give me away?
Why didn't she want me?
Searching for her identity,
Sealed away in a locked file.
Feeling like a misfit
Amid her caring foster family.
A young woman grown,
A family of her own.
Yearning for wholeness,
Still hunting for her maker.
A phone call to her flesh,
Daughter and mother reunited.
Smiling through the tears,
A woman thankful for two mothers.
Melissa writes about the God and human connection and condition.
