Treasures in Heaven

Often man thinks
That if a person can sing or play a guitar
That they get idolized
And to the flesh, become a star

They rake in the money
And live a life of ease
Yet when it comes to eternity
Who really did they please?

They have all their wants
And have so many worldly things
But when it is time for Heaven
All these goods, with them, they can not bring

Did they feed the hungry?
Did they care for the ill?
Did they use their money for the kingdom?
Or did they tell others to just go get filled?

God gives money to some for a reason
So that they will be His helping hand
Yet when they heap it all for self
There becomes a drought in the land

Many suffer
And go without
When man gets into self
And forgets what true life is about

Many will say in that day
Lord, our treasury we did fill
Yet God will answer them with a question
But did you do my will?

Wealth and money
Comes from God's power above
He gives so people will share
And be a vessel of His love

To the rich I am concerned
As you lavish things upon self
Yet there are so many people in need
And you put God's will on the shelf

If you would live a life of surrender
And allow the Lord to lead
All that is done with the money that He gave to you
You would be planting eternal heavenly seeds

You would have treasure in heaven
Instead of just here on earth
You would have eternal fruit
And your gain would just not go back to dirt

There are many Christians
That the Lord has raised up
And put into celebrity positions
With an overflowing cup

You may live a life with no lack
But God did you please?
Satan said I will give you the whole world
If you will just worship me

So be careful whom you serve
As it has eternal implications
Though you are happy on earth
You may not have a heavenly destination.

If you think that your life is your own
You are sadly amiss
You are playing with fire
And death and hell, has your kiss.

I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
