Oh that Christians would want to listen
To what the Spirit of God would have to say
There would be and end to many struggles
As they would hear, my child, go this way

We seem to teach religion
Just follow the letter of the law
Our flesh gets all glory
But God's will is not wanted at all

God's Word tells us to be led by the Spirit
Yet many teach us to be led by the word
But the Bible clearly teaches
It is the Spirit's sword

The Holy Spirit wants to lead
He wants to empower
He wants to show us God's way
That will bring new victory in this hour

God's ways are higher
Than all that man can think
We fight spiritual wars with carnal weapons
And we wonder why the results always stink

If we could just get our imaginations out of the way
And allow God's knowledge to penetrate our mind instead
We would find that many battles would never be or would be won
Because our flesh is crucified and we are Holy Spirit led

Jesus was our example
He only spoke what the Father said
He did what He saw the Father do
He was Holy Spirit led

He did only the will of His Father
He gave up us own will
So if we are crucified with Christ and it's only Him living in us
Would not Jesus through us be doing this still?

God has not changed
But man seems to determined to run the show
Does man have no clue?
That they need God's ways to know?

God has not changed
Miracles He still will do
Yet this can never happen
Until it is by His Spirit, and not you.
