Do you feel the urgency?

I received a phone call today, the person on the other end told me a friend's father in-law passed away on yesterday. She also told me the deceased person's mother's funeral was today. A few hours later, my dad calls me to tell me my cousin passed away today. I know that two of those people were not saved. I can only hope they accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior on their deathbeds, but what if they didn't. What if they died not knowing Jesus Christ died to save them from their sins? I know everyone is not going to be saved. But can we honestly say we have done our part? Have we been obedient to God, when He told us to go out and spread the good news to all nations? You may say, " Well they can see sermons on television everyday." I say, "Yes they can, but what have you done?" When was the last time you told someone about what God has brought you through? When was the last time you shared your testimony? When was the last time you told someone God loves them? When was the last time you gave someone a book that may minister to them and change their life? When was the last time you invited someone to church?

I am feeling the urgency to tell someone about Christ. I have to sow the seeds, so God can harvest His crop. (reference to I Corinthians 3:6) As my pastor said We are letting the harvest die because we haven't prepared it to be picked. So whose fault is it that so many people are dieing who do not know Christ. Is that really blood on our hands? Once again I know everyone will not be saved. But how many of those people could have been saved if we just shared the good news with them?

My husband and I were talking just this morning about how we as Christians have to stay focused. We don't have time to stress about the latest surprise bill that we know God will take care of, when we know there are unsaved people we should be talking to. We don't have time to worry about Brittany Spears' last fiasco, someone needs to be ministering to her. We waste too much news time on the Anna Nicole Smith case or some other irrelevant story, when we need to focus on spreading the gospel. We can't spend too much time worrying about who's bickering in the church, people coming in late, who didn't show up for the last church event, who will sing the next solo, etc. We can't even spend too much time on the last argument we had with our spouse-talk it over, pray about it, and go on- because there are lives attached to ours. There are people God has assigned to you and if you are not in position, what are you going to tell God. Whatever your excuse, it is not good enough. So I challenge you, I challenge myself, to take advantage of every opportunity to tell someone about Christ.
We should live our lives in such a way that sinners want to be like us. They should see the peace and joy of our lives. When they ask us how we can smile everyday with all the things going on in the world, we need to tell them about Jesus Christ. When they ask why are we not struggling when everyone else in the world is, then we need to tell them about Jesus Christ. When they ask us how can we sleep through the night, when everyone else is stressed, we can tell them about Jesus Christ.

So think about that homeless person who seems to cross your path everyday, maybe that's the person that is assigned to you. Think about that women you don't know but always happens to be in the grocery store the same time you are every week, maybe she is assigned to you. So be aware of the opportunities that are presented to you, open your eyes to those who are assigned to you, let the Holy Spirit guide you and go share Jesus Christ.
