Heartache leaks out of your tear ducts
And falls like rain into mud puddles.
Shredded and worn, your waterproof umbrella
No longer protects you from falling skies.
Cumulus clouds hang over your shoulders
While lightning sizzles your confidence.
When you cry I jump into your tears
And taste the salty residue of sadness.
Your tears talk of younger and better days
Before cancer stole your breasts and hair.
Pouring our tears into a cup of friendship
We drink sorrow and share life's moments.
In the depth of winter, I finally learned
that there was within me an invincible summer. A quote by Albert Camus.
Melissa writes about the God and human connection and condition.
