The Answer of Peace

What is peace? The dictionary defines this as: (3 definitions listed)
1 a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations:
Try to live in peace with your neighbors.
2. the normal freedom from civil commotion and violence of a community; public order
and security: He was arrested for being drunk and disturbing the peace.
3. cessation of or freedom from any strife or dissension.
To be at peace means:
untroubled; tranquil; content.
The world seeks peace. Eze 7:25 Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Peace is something that we all seek and need. Peace is one of the fruit of God's Spirit. Galatians 5:22 says: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
God has promised to us peace if:
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
To have peace is then having the fruit of the spirit and knowing that your mind is stayed on the Lord and that you are truly trusting Him. Years ago, I had an interesting experience that I needed to have. I had been upset about something. All the sudden God gave to me His peace. I was unhappy that I only got peace. I felt like because the problem still existed and did not change, that peace was a copout. I mistakenly complained to the Lord and found that my peace was taken then for 3 weeks. I needed to learn a good lesson. I had to cry out and repent and ask for this peace to return. He did give it back to me, thankfully. Often we pray and ask for something specific from the Lord. Yet we seem to not realize that not all requests can be answered in seconds. Some at least when they are about something going on in us, He can answer very quickly. Yet others take time as they are about others and situations that just don't change overnight. Those answers take time to bring change in other peoples thoughts and actions so that they will line up with God's will and purpose. Let's face it, we all have thoughts and hold on to things that we really shouldn't. It takes time to get through to us that these are not the best thoughts that we should have or we need to change some actions that we take to please the Lord. These all take time.
I have found that peace is God's way of letting us know that all is all right. When we are at peace we know that God has the problem in His hands and we are no longer to be concerned over it even though we may not see changes. We can trust in a very big, loving, all-knowing God to take care of the issue at hand.
Much of the world does not have this peace. They carry many burdens and weights that they need not carry. They have not learned the value of coming to God with their cares and concerns. They don't realize that Jesus is the burden bearer. He does not want them weighted down but actually wants them to be at peace. We are told to cast our cares upon Him for He careth for us (1 Peter 5:7). If we are trusting in self to carry these things we are deceived. We were not designed to carry these things. God wants to carry these cares. Scripture says that we go out with joy and are led forth by peace (Isaiah 55:12). If we have no peace it is difficult to be led of the Lord. So even though we may not see a quick answer or change as a result of our prayers, when God gives to us peace we can know that all is well. Peace may not be the answer we desired necessarily, but it is often God's answer and is a good one as He can lead and guide us when we remain at peace.

I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
