My name means "crown" and I was one of the first deacons of the early Church in Jerusalem after Jesus ascended into heaven. I was called "a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit' and perfomed many signs of wonder and spoke with the power of given to me by the Lord. Eventually the Sanhedrin brought me before them to judge me for my words and actions. I spoke to them boldly proclaiming, " You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it." After I said this, I was dragged out and became one of the first martyrs of Christianity. As I was being stoned for my faith I prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Who am I?
Here is a great way to share the stories and people of the Bible. This is a great conversation starter for reaching children as well. Pass it on to your family and friends to see if they know the answer.Have a great day!
