THE SOUL WINNERS' JOY!

by SIXTUS ONYEANUSI
2/07/2012 / Christian Living

BE A SOUL-WINNER FOR JESUS FROM TODAY:

Is the fire of holiness, evangelism-passion for souls, prayer, zeal for God's work still burning brightly in you as before or has it been smothered by cares of the world and perilous winds of the last days?

Lose not your vision of Jesus! For the purpose of being a channel to other people's salvation were you redeemed and washed in the Blood of Jesus...that's why you were born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Waste not this purpose...frustrate not the purpose of God!

You can be useful in the hands of Jesus....

You can be fruitful as you let the Holy Spirit have His way and use you mightily...let Him work in you and work through you!

"We want men who are set on soul-saving; who are not ashamed to let everyone know that this is the one aim and object of their life and that they make everything secondary to this."

- Catherine Booth

Soul winning is a lifestyle of every faithful disciple; every genuine lover of Jesus, who is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Asking a true lover of God to stop preaching Jesus, to stop living for Him, to stop living like Him, to stop singing His praise, to stop acknowledging His grace is like stopping him from breathing.

He is the Air we breathe.
In Him we live, move and have our being.
He's the only life we've got!

"We are salvation people-this is our specialty-getting people saved and keeping them saved, and then getting somebody else saved. Look at this. Clear your vision. Halt, stand still and afresh and more fully apprehend and comprehend your calling. You are to be a worker together with God for the salvation of your fellow men. What is the business of your life? Not merely to save your own soul and make yourself meet for paradise? No, you are to be a redeemer, a saviour, a copy of Jesus Christ Himself. So, consecrate every awakened power to the great end of saving them.

Rescue the perishing. There they are all around you everywhere, crowds upon crowds, multitudes. Be skillful. Improve yourself. Study your business.

Be self-sacrificing: remember the Master. What you lose for His sake and for the sake of the poor souls for whom he died, you shall find again. Stick to it. Having put your hand to the slavation plough, don't look behind you."

- William Booth.

What more could I say to this well articulated outpouring of divine thoughts by the great evangelist William and Catherine Booth...they poured their lives for souls, and Jesus poured His Spirit of love and power on them. They tasted a great deal of the soul winners' joy!

There is a spring of living joy in soul winning that only kingdom sons who are soul winners enjoy.

The believers joy is not full without the joy that comes from soul-winning.

The joy of the Lord would be your strength when you passionately commit to praying for and saving souls!

On Monday 30th January, 2012, while I was returning from work, I met two young men, and offered to share God's word with them, they obliged.

As we talked, they began to resist the Holy Spirit. They were stiffnecked, so I resolved to pray with them. I prayed ...passionately with them and commended them into the hands of the Holy Spirit to do His work in them.

I went not satisfied. My satisfaction would have come when I see them broken and open to have Jesus come into them. I went not satisfied inside.

In the course of reaching out to souls, there are challenges. It is not a goal-getting venture...there are some hindrances.
You shall meet mockers, debaters, scoffers, and accuser...opposing themselves, thinking that they are opposing God.

Endure the mockers and scoffers around you (even in the household of faith). There are some whose words eat like canker and cut like a knife. But take no thoughts over their derogatory words and despising attitudes towards you because of your intimate relationship with Jesus.

Pray for them.
Speak courteously to them.
Don't revile back when you're reviled.
Above all, forgive them.
Love them.
Help them.

This is why you're Christlike!

"Truly suffering at the hands of those who claim to be Christ's is the cross Jesus bore. For he was condemned, put to shame, and crucified by those claiming to be the children of God. Yet while Jesus suffered the cross, he was at the same time faithful to tell them the truth. Let us pray for one another that we would continue to bear his cross, and hold to the truth in faithfulness and love for every soul."
- Richard Lehman

After that day, I got home, refreshed, wanted to rest, but the Spirit bade me to walk around the neighbourhood. I paid heed. As I came around, I saw some brethren conducting street evangelism. They were all youths like me. I was greatly encouraged.

I stayed close behind for a while, listened to the undiluted word of life the young man was speaking by the power of the Holy Spirit, I heard God speaking more life to me....(you know the word is new every morning). God impressed in my heart to speak a word of encouragement to them, so I called one of the leaders or coordinators standing by, and said to him that "God asked me to tell you that your labours are not in vain". I could see and read a glow in his face...he expressed how thankful he is for the encouraging word.

I left the place, and as I walked down, I saw a young lady snacking, and I asked if I could join her, she smiled it off. I walked pass her and turned back to share with her God's word.

As I opened my mouth, God gave me words of knowledge and granted me direct and sharp utterances to speak as I ought to.

God gave me that soul.

He also added extra two that night. He comforted me for the two I had earlier left without being satisfied in my self.

I had that joy of soul winning I did not have.

I will follow the souls up by God's grace and have them nourished up in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I don't know how is it that you're comfortable without any weighing burden and burning passion to see souls saved and come to Jesus...how could you fold up your hands, while the Holy Spirit needs those hands and willing heart to pluck men out of fire?

You were once a faithful lover of Jesus...passionate for souls to be saved...you preached Christ like mad and saw good number of souls touched for Christ. You can pick up that zeal. God is not through with you yet.

You can rise again and run with the Heaven vision.

You are a person on a mission.

Stop living each day outside the Kingdom purpose!

Rise and take your place, lest you lose the rewards of those you done a fore!

Be a soul winner for Jesus today again!

It pays to serve Jesus,
I'm speaking from my heart!
