Turn Back To God

When from God you've wandered off,
and got caught up in the world's lust
where the need to fulfill your dreams
made you leave His Word in the dust.
After searching for what you thought,
would bring you joy and happiness
turns to sorrow, grief, and true regret
and you're overcome by your sadness.
That is the time to turn back to the Lord,
and wash the world's grime from your skin
for He will cleanse and release you from
the filthy bondage of your wayward sin.
After you return from your drifting days,
and your life is no longer to Him a sham
not everyone will be as loving or forgiving
they will continue to judge and to damn.
They will call you a fraud, a hypocrite,
and persecute your blood washed sin
to them you will always be a poor example
of a Christian that claims to be born again.
But, don't listen to what they have to say,
God knows that "all" men have strayed
and it is His heart and soul desire
to bring back every soul that has swayed.
So, stick to the path that you are now on,
and don't let others bring or take you down
you are on your way to heaven's kingdom
where you'll wear the returner's victory crown!

and come to Zion with songs and everlasting
joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy
and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall
