He brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us-2 Corinthians 1:4 TM
During an email exchange between two friends the statement "you were called to be a blessing" was made. Called to be a blessing-what an awesome compliment! Just having someone say that is a blessing in itself!
Before we can accept the fact that we were all called to be a blessing in one way or another, we first have to understand what a calling and a blessing are. A calling is an invitation to use our gifts and or talents for God's agenda (1 Peter 4:10 NIV). A blessing is something that promotes or contributes to happiness, well being and or prosperity (Psalms 24:4 CEV). Now that we've gotten a better understanding of the words calling and blessing we can move on.
I truly believe that God intended for our words and actions to be a blessing for all especially those in need. In Ephesians 4:32 NIV and Proverbs 16:24 AB the Bible tells us to be kind and compassionate to one other and in doing so we will provide joy for the mind and healing for the body. If we apply those verses we will indeed fulfill our call to be a blessing.
Called to be a blessing-a simple summons to share a token of love or affection!
