Money and fame
Are foreign to me
Homes and possessions
Just never came to be

Many dreams that I have had
Many a desire that never came to be
I just wake in the mornings
Wondering when will Heaven I see

A wife or a family
A new house or car
A vacation in Paris
To me anymore seems bizarre

But I have Jesus
So I have everything
This world is just temporal
With all the fleshy pleasures that it brings

I am in this world yet no longer of it
I feel as if I am in a foreign land
So much just makes no sense anymore
All that matters is did I fulfill God's plan?

When I leave this world doesn't matter
As there is nothing to hold me here
There is nothing to wake up for
Except when I sense that Jesus is near

When I am used of the Lord
And make a difference in some way
Mean more to me than all the money
And for me makes it a good day

Just to be in His presence
There is no greater joy
There is nothing to compare
Not even any worldly toy

People may think it strange
Yet this path I really did not choose
I just knew to follow the Lord
As Him I would never want to lose

I have always tried to write down
The things the Holy Spirit shared with me
But I've found that few seem to want them or care
As it upsets their false reality

Maybe after I am gone
Some will finally awake
And appreciate what had been said
And finally know what is at stake

Maybe then they will believe
And the words take to heart
As all I tried to promote
Was with Jesus you can have a new start

I never wrote for money
I just wrote in obedience to Him
So that others might get to know
That there is new life from what they have been

I always just hoped that my life did count
And made a difference for someone
But maybe it will have had more meaning
Once I leave this world and go home

I am not complaining
Because of the things I didn't get to see
Jesus has been my guide
And that is alright with me.

I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
