Psalms 106:15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
I have had this on my heart. So often we are living for the temporal. The temporal may be many things. It all has to do with the satisfying of our flesh. We get caught up in the fun part of the world and never really get serious about what God desires. God will give us the request but think of the leanness of soul that the world must endure because of our selfishness and rebellion against God. When we live for self then others will suffer as we are not fulfilling the will of God in our lives, which are not ours.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
We have so many things that distract us. Have we forgotten that we were bought with a price and that our life is no longer our own? Do we get caught up in the temporal when the world is falling apart? What is most important? Is it to do God's will or feed our flesh? The Lord recently told me concerning a prayer group that I was in that the group could change the course of the world. Think of the value of that statement. When people drop their own agendas and come together in unity of the Holy Spirit and allow God to pray and do whatever He chooses to do at the time through them, the course of the world can change. Look at the power that God has given to us that we just seem to push aside. What is more important? Are souls important? Are people that are being slaughtered important? Are all the people that are struggling as they are under such oppression of the enemy important? The Apostle Paul said:
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1Co 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
When we asked Jesus to save us and become Lord we are no longer the owner of self. We are here because of God to fulfill His purposes alone. I have to wonder why we got saved in the first place. We were drawn by the Holy Spirit and given a new life, yet we seem to want to keep living our old life instead.
This scripture has been in me for days:
Isa 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
The church for the most part is rebellious. They have gone after their own thoughts. This is what rebellion is. Rebellion is of the sin of witchcraft. Witchcraft is mind control. Their minds are in control. They have not sought the mind of the Lord. We are to "let" this mind be in us which was also in Christ Jesus. Any other mind that we operate in is rebellion against God. They have forgotten that they are bought with a price and are here only because of Jesus and that they here to do the will of God. They have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to further the work that Jesus started. Yet so often they have gone their own way and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things entering in have taken them astray from the real purposes.
Church, are you ready for the Jesus to say to you that He never knew you?
21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Until we make God and His will alone our priority we are in danger of being told that He never knew us. We did all kind of things that look religious to man, but if God did not lead them by His Spirit, then they came from our flesh. Things coming from the Holy Ghost come with power from on high. These are the things that will glorify God, not our many works originating from our flesh. It is not about religious works that will impress God. It is about did we seek Him and His will and were obedient to what He asked that will bring glory to Him.
The question I leave you with is:
Is the temporal pleasure of this world more important to you than doing my will?
I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
