South Dayton Baptist Church Tent Revival

South Dayton Baptist Church located in Moraine, Ohio will be hosting a tent revival over Memorial Day weekend. Each night the service will begin promptly at 7.00 PM. Sunday May 27 through Wednesday May 30 revival services will be under the big tent. South Dayton has called Dr. Terry VanBuskirk to officiate this event. Along with Doc Van several other speakers will be preaching as well. They include former pastor Kenneth Leach and Dr. Terrell Hudson pastor of Moraine Heights Baptist Church. Their very own Pastor Steve Thornhill and Evangelist Michael Adams will also be speaking. Several area musicians will be singing praise and worship music.

South Dayton Baptist Church was started 56 years ago by a tent revival held on their grounds. The old West Moraine Baptist Church was holding their own tent revival and needed space to do so. They were advised of the empty lot across town in a newer neighborhood. Upon seeing the lot they knew it would be a perfect place to host the revival. The neighborhood had such a great outpouring of people attending each night that West Moraine Baptist Church knew they could not leave the people empty handed. Thus the start of South Dayton Baptist Church. Originally know as Gethsemane Baptist Church it was the first plant church of West Moraine Baptist Church. West Moraine grew exceedingly and eventually moved and changed their name to Moraine Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Travis Hudson was the original pastor and now his son Terrell Hudson pastors the church.
The key speaker will by Doc Van who is traveling in from Taylorsville, Utah. Doc Van spent many years as a country music singer until he gave his life to God. Now he is the administrative vice-president of Salt Lake Bible College and president of Salt Lake Baptist Bible College online. Doc Van travels each summer from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of Alaska preaching revival services and using his musical talents. He has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 25 years, in churches, revivals and on the streets.
Pastor Terrell Hudson has preached the Gospel for 30 years at Moraine Heights Baptist Church and many revivals over his lifetime. Pastor Terrell attended Cedarville University where he earned his theology degree.
Pastor Kenneth Leach has pastored several churches over his lifetime and was present at the first tent revival 56 years ago.
Pastor Steve Thornhill has pastored South Dayton Baptist Church for the last nine years and is a great guitarist. The church was down to less than ten people when Steve accepted the pastorship and has steadily grown since.
Evangelist Michael Adams is a student of Doc Vans online Bible college. He has preached at South Dayton as well as at the first Great American Fast revival service in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Each night will be a different special. Details will be added as the days draw closer. For now Monday May 28 is family day with dinner being served before the meeting. It also is a day of tribute to the United States of America Military.
Be sure to bring visitors with you as you attend. There will be prizes for the most visitors brought. The top prize will be a 1611 leather 400 year anniversary edition of the King James Bible. This is sure to be an awesome treasure.

Schedule of events:
Sunday 11:00 AM Pastor Steve Thornhill and Doc Van will preach with special music by The Branscombs.
Sunday evening 7 PM preaching again by Pastor Steve Thornhill and Doc Van, special music will be brought by Trinity Community Church choir.
Monday 11:00 AM early lunch for kids time. Followed by Rick Teepen and Snakes Alive as seen at the Creation Museum. Afternoon dinner on the grounds will begin at 5 PM. After dinner the service will be started at 7 PM. Evangelist Michael Adams and Doc Van will be preaching with Teddy Brown providing special music.
Tuesday & PM Pastor Terrell Hudson and Doc Van once again will be preaching with special music by The Branches.
Pastor Kenneth Leach will preach the first message on Wednesday evening to kick off the final night. Teddy Brown will have the special music and Doc Van will preach to close out the revival. We hope to see hundreds attend each night. Your prayers will help us reach the goal for our heavenly Father.
