If Jesus was driving my car, what would He do?

by Faith C

Friends I was driving past a narrow road today. There were two lanes and there were cars parked in front, so stopped behind them to allow the other vehicle heading towards me pass by.

Sometimes I do not stop and go ahead if the oncoming car is far away. Many a time, men or woman driving in posh cars or larger vehicles have got very angry and abusive. They expect me to wait for them, even if they are a distance

I sometimes get angry back and think "So what if they have fantastic cars, can't they too wait sometimes and let me go?"

Today I was thinking back at those scenes and said aloud "What would Jesus do?" and suddenly it hit me! Jesus would wait patiently and even if it was His right of way, He would wait and give others a chance to pass by.

Jesus' only agenda was LOVE. He's an amazing, wonderful, patient, caring, humble Son of God.

He entered Jerusalem on a donkey instead of a chariot and an entourage of angels heralding Him in. There were no loud speakers shouting "Make way, make way, the King of Kings is here." No! He entered humbly

Jesus gives us many lessons by His example to others. Now I have to be different. I must keep Jesus in mind at all times and follow His ways. If I am to be His follower, I must follow His ways. I must not give into pride but be humble.

I asked my Mum this question too when she was telling me of the way her son-in-law mistreated her and hurt her by his ways. I told her of my experience and asked her what would He do? She said "He would wait!"

I replied "Yes, He would probably wait for an hour and allow others to pass before Him. I encouraged her to ask herself what would Jesus do in her situation? Mum's so wonderful and so easy to talk to and teach.

My Dad used to teach us kids this prayer when we were little "Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine".

Today, I am reminded not to expect Jesus to change me but to change because I love Him and want to do things differently. I guess in a way with this experience, He has truly changed me.

My prayer for you is to join me on this journey of patience and humility. Allow God to show you simple things where you too can be like Jesus. Ask yourself the same question "What would Jesus do?" in situations and the Holy Spirit will lead you. I believe He will give us all the grace to change, if we are willing.

Let us pray: O Lord Jesus, how often have we failed You and others because of our own pride and ego. Thank You for correcting us O Lord. Please help us all in our daily walk and thank You for being the best role model amen."

PS: Due to restrictions due illness, I am not connected to Private Messenger on this site

"Lead us O Holy One. Guide us and bless us. Thank You amen"
