i dreamt a dream white as snow
of two so pure on a wedding day
unadulterated. untouched.

eyes that had never seen shame
nor mourned for their loss of innocence.
they were lily white.

the bride quivered at the touch
of the bridegroom
and her purity would not be taken
as the two became one
because united,
their passion was not forbidden

this was an undefiled passion
a fervor ignited by sanctity,
a beauty unmatched
as the picture of two white swans
entwined in the moonlight,
their harmony granted by God
