Taste And See

by Olawale Ogunsola
5/03/2012 / Salvation

Every normal person is endowed,from birth, with five powers or senses.
These are the senses of seeing,hearing,smell,taste and touch.For each sense there is an organ.These are eyes,ear,nose,taste,hand or any other part of the body respectively.
It is sad to note that mankind fails to employ the senses as at when due for the purpose which they were created.
For instance,mankind wants to know whether a pot or plate of stew or soup has salt or not by mere seeing it.Can a steadfast look prove this? Can this work? No!
It is only if tasted that it can be known.
When you taste a pot of soup,you can then 'see' that it contains salt or not.This can not be proved by smelling,touching or hearing.It can not be reasoned nor explained but experienced by "taste and see".
This fact also holds fnr the Salt of Life-Jesus.The taste of the food is in the eating,so it is with the Bread of Life-Jesus Christ.(John6:35)
Then the Psalmist is right to write in chapter thirty-four in verse eight,
"Oh,taste and see that the Lord
is good;
Blessed is th man who trusts in Him."
Salvation through Jesus Christ may not be fully explained or reasoned becaus it is very simple but true.Having the experience is the proof.
What mankind can not understand,he criticizes.What one experiences can not be denied or criticized,one knows it is true.
Now is the time for you to "taste and see that the Lord is good." To be blessed by Him,all you need to do is put your trust in Him as your Lord and Saviour-after you realise that you are a helpless sinner and confess,regret and forsake your past misdeeds.
If you believe in Him,abide in His word and you are His disciple indeed,(John8:31). You can do this by obtaining a copy of the Holy Bible for meditation day and night.Join an assembly of Believers for fellowship and growth.Then you can confidently say,
"Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me,
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord,
Forever." Psalm 23:6.
Every Bible quotation is taken from New King James Version
