Analogy of Dimensions Beyond Our 3rd
Today, cosmologists believe that 96% of the universe is made of invisible material; matter and energy that we can’t measure. We know it’s here, we can't see it but we can detect it through gravity. We cannot touch it, we cannot hear it. Mathematicians believe our universe consists of at least 11 dimensions – some say as many as 22.
The first, second, and third dimensions are the only dimensions we can hear, see, and feel. Understanding the higher/invisible dimensions that we can’t see requires us to deal with the dimensions that we can see in analogy form - one being as follows:
Make believe a third dimensional person(s) standing over a desk with people living on the surface of it, but the people live in only two dimensions. They understand length and width; forward, backwards and sideways, but they do not understand the concept of depth – no up or down in their world; just length and width.
The desk-people cannot comprehend a 3rd dimensional person/people standing “above” them and wouldn’t be able to “see” the person as “above” is invisible (which then could be sensed/felt/considered by the desk-people as unseen ‘god/or gods’). The person/people looking at the desk of people living on it could see them the entire time – wherever they went, whatever they did. The desk-people would never be able to “hide” because they don’t understand “depth” to build something “over” them to cover/hide them. Not only could the 3rd dimensional person/people watching them could always see them, but could view the beginning of their lives – just as clearly as viewing the ending – or anytime in between.
So the idea of Heaven being above… or hell below is... well, the best 3rd dimensional explanation of primitive man regarding a multi-dimensional universe. But in total reality, those higher dimensions are not above or below us… they are all around and even through/a part of us, sharing our space in worlds we can’t see [more like we’re sharing their space(s)]. The 3rd dimension is made of (which includes those dimensions 'within') the higher dimensions. Man is made up of at least three dimensions – the spirit, the fourth... which departs the person/3rd dimension after the body dies and enters the numerous dimensions beyond: Heaven or hell… forever - for all eternity.
For those who choose to faithfully believe in Jesus Christ…
Romans 8:38-39 NIV: "…neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Born again since age 7 thanks forever to Billy Graham; my prodigal years were ages 13-21... where I lived and died to self - found life in Jesus. Thankful for His forgiveness, I live life according to John 3:16... and always running the race; growing in Christ; maturing: a life-long process.
