Though the Bible does not actually state the word “Trinity”, there are many passages that represent God in the plural (“Elohim” is one example). In the eternal unity of the Godhead, there are three coequal Persons: The Father is God (John 6:27; Eph. 4:6), Jesus Christ is God (Heb 1:8), and the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4). Jesus stated in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.”

How does one depict the awesome concept of a Triune God? There are many different analogies out there. One of my favorites was the one someone told me when I was a child that seemed to mirror the Bible’s description (Father - God, Son - Jesus, and Friend - the Holy Spirit)… The Trinity could be viewed much like one man with three roles/titles: A father, a son, and a friend. Another wonderful analogy that depicts the Trinity is of water in its three forms: liquid, steam, and frozen/ice.

Not long ago, the image of a radio popped into my mind where I observed another analogy regarding the concept of the Trinity: God the Father would be the power source, Jesus Christ - the receiver, and the Holy Spirit - the frequency. One radio with three interrelated functions.

Analogies like these are merely simple ways to better understand the deep mysteries of the Almighty.
