When the heart cries out to be heard,
yet instead it shares not a sob or word
when it yearns to speak to another
yet instead its voice it can't uncover.

When the heart needs someone else,
another person stronger than itself
when it feels the tug of deep emotion
and feels the need for true devotion.

When the heart ceases in its futile search,
and comes down from its high mighty perch
it will see it's looked in all the wrong places
for man can't fill the need for God's graces.

For the heart that cries and is not heard,
needs to cleave onto the Good Word . . .
for in God's Word it will find He has an ear
and cries from the heart . . . He'll always hear.

"I love the Lord, because he hath heard my
voice and my supplications. Because he hath
inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call
upon him as long as I live."
