Give Thanks

We are coming together to give thanks to our heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost for all the Lord has done for us. Jesus is our headship. In Hebrews 1:1-3 explains Jesus' position and the victory of freedom Jesus achieved for us.
Hebrews 1:1-3 [IN MANY separate revelations of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our} forefathers in and by the prophets.
2. [But} in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a ]Son, Whom He appointed [Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
3. He is the sole expression of the glory of God[the Light-being, the out raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt. He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high.
This is our Lord Jesus, who knows His position. But what do we as man, Christians understand who Jesus is at all.
Some may be saying, Jesus is our Lord and Savior, why do we call him Christ. I have an answer, turn to Matthew 16:13-20 in the new testament of your bible. (verse 16)
Matthew 16:13-20
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus understood that Simon :
Simon in the Hebrew spelled, Shimon, comes from the Hebrew word Shama which mean to listen, or hear and obey. We often refer to the Lord as Jehovah Shama, the lord our peace. The most famous use of the word is probably in Deut. 6:4, "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord." and (then it goes on to say)
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
So, basically don't forget it like you drop your purse or briefcase on floor or bed and go to the gym or take a shower. God is with you always believe Him as such.
So, when Peter said , "You are the Son of the living God" Jesus at this moment received confirmation that Simon could receive the anointing of his name and hear from God the Father purposefully.
The last thing Jesus needed to do is to open Simon's heart to understand the position of the Salvation Ministry or Ministry of Jesus.
So Jesus renamed Simon, Peter, meaning the rock.
Jesus took the ear of the anointing in Simon and shielded it with something impervious and impenetrable, Peter, the rock, on which he will build His church which shall never go away.
A rock never trembles and has no fear. Faith is where God operates and Fear is where satan operates. Jesus established Peter in his role of unwavering Faith.

To name a person is to take responsibility for that person's wellness. Jesus then reveals to Peter the inheritance he is to receive as stated in
Matthew 16:18-20, 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, [1] and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
So, now we know why we call Jesus, the Christ, cause he is the Son of the living God. Now lets talk about why he is called savior and what's the point of thanking Jesus, God, the Father or the Holy Ghost any way.
Here's why, saying "Thank You" is one of the most intimate things you can say to a person. It shows that you acknowledge and understand the sacrifices that have been made for you.
We see this when we read in Genesis of Abraham and his sacrifices.
Abraham in obedience and faith takes what is most precious to him, his son, Isaac to offer Isaac up as a sacrifice to God. God wanted it revealed whether Abraham would trust the Lord with his future, Isaac, the lineage, the promised future of Abraham. We see this in Genesis 17:5

Gen 17:5
5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
This was a test to see if Abraham was in Faith. God seeing Abraham's faithful heart provides a sacrifice in the form of a ram in the bush. We see this in
Genesis 22:11-13
But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am." Meaning, my faith is with you Lord, your will is my will, I trust you with all you have given me.
12 And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."
To Fear God is to reverence, believe.
Just as God tested the faith of every prophet He also tested Abraham's faith. Free will is the only middle road we get between faith and fear. So we must choose wisely and choose faith always.
Since God never defaults on his word. God wanted to know if Abraham still believed what God said to him when He called the blessing into Abraham's life.
God said to Abraham what He said to the first Adam and did to Jesus what He did to Abraham. God inquired of their belief in what He had already said. For 1st Adam/Abraham his listened to their response and for Jesus, God sent an angel to strengthen (pray for) Him because Jesus began to identify with man more so than God the Father.
Jesus entered into temptation and began to defend himself and fight the flesh like the zealots, the religious fanatics that leaned on themselves. We can read and see the temptations here in Luke 22:35-38. Jesus knew that His time of suffering was getting close. Jesus wanted to stay a little longer with his disciples whom he loved and built an emotional bond.
Luke 22:35-38
35 And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?" So they said, "Nothing."
36.Then He said to them, "But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.
37 For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have an end."
38 So they said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough."
Jesus even warned his disciples to pray so they would not enter into temptation cause he was wearying from holding up their faith instead of them working out their own faith
with reverence and trembling. But God, the Father restored Jesus' faith. Identifying with his disciples Jesus prays as a man grieved with sin. We can see this in Luke 22-42-43
Luke 22:42-43
42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
God heard Jesus' cries and by grace sent food for nourishment via an Angel praying. Just as God prayed for Jesus, Jesus prayed for Peter and Jesus instructs Peter to pray for the disciples, the flock and the lost.
(See also, Luke 22: 35-45 read how Jesus cried out to his Father and God's response.)
Luke 22:31-34
31 And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. Sifting as wheat means to pound into dust, nothing-ness, to kill.
Just like wheat must be pounded into a powder before it is usable as flour for bread. You can not sift Wheat. Once you grind/pound wheat it is no longer wheat. Now in verse 32 Jesus says,
32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."
Jesus tells Peter I am your source draw from Me in your times of weakness. Jesus draws from the Father.
Peter speaks through his emotions cause his revelation is in the developing stages. Peter is being tempted. How often have we been tempted to say or do something out of emotions whether its noble or spiteful? Defending our honor or saying means thing cause it sounds funny and we get a laugh from others.
33 But he said to Him, "Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death." 34 Then He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me
Peter, the rock, does exactly as Jesus said he would do cause fear was in his heart and this is what Satan intended to use to prevent Peter from realizing his anointing so that the gospel would not be preached. In Mark 14:66-68 we see what Jesus said about his rock Peter.
Mark 14:66-68 66 Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came. 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, "You also were with Jesus of Nazareth." 68 But he denied it, saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are saying." And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross would strengthen the disciples faith and break the sorrow/sinful binding from their minds.
1.The idea of "Let Us Thank God" is to thank God for humbling Himself for our salvation. By his design a spirit must have a vessel, flesh, to dwell upon the earth. Before Jesus , our Lord and Savior, man was to God like a fish to a bird. If the two married whose home would they live in, a fish can not survive out of water and a bird can not survive in water.
2.God in all his wisdom knew that to be with His creation again he would have to reduce Himself to save us, who He loved. 3.So God removed His glory, His power, His omnipresence, his wisdom so that he that He could pour himself into the virgin Mary. 4.Mary's womb could not hold the full glory of God because she would have burst open, her bones become molten, ash, no one can look upon the Lord and live.
5.God never thirsted, never hungered, never slept, never dreamed never had a conflict of thought or presence. God chose to reduce himself down to the lowest common denominator of Himself. God became a man, the creature made in His image.
We see in scriptures John 3:16, that God made the ultimate sacrifice of offering up one son for many sons.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved"

Speaking "Thank You" reveals the sincerity in your heart by you speaking it from your mouth (life and death in the power of your tongue put in script ref).
Psalms 118:1-7;26-29
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let Israel now say, "His mercy endures forever." 3 Let the house of Aaron now say, "His mercy endures forever." 4 Let those who fear the Lord now say, "His mercy endures forever." 5 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 7 The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me
Psalms 118:26-29 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord. 27 God is the Lord, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. 29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever
Saying "Thank You" is not meant to make you feel guilty and is not an admission of guilt. Giving of thanks is laying your humility on the table or alter before God. Its a form of surrendering to His grace, mercy and pleasure. It pleases God when we say, "Thank You". God rejoices when we humble ourselves and give thanks acknowledging Him and His God Headship.
So lets take some time out to worship God, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost by speaking thanks. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Ghost. Thank you, thank you
You can also use scriptures, bible verse to assist you in prayer and thanks giving praise to God. The following are some examples. Use your concordance or index to locate bible verses by subject. This makes it easier to locate. Please remember if you have not memorized the order of the 66 books of the bible use the table of contents to locate the page number. Use the tools God has given you to worship Him. Psalms 118:1-29 is a psalms of thanks
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
2 Let Israel now say, "His mercy endures forever."
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, "His mercy endures forever."
4 Let those who fear the Lord now say, "His mercy endures forever." 5 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 7 The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. 8 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes. 10 All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 11 They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 12 They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the Lord helped me. 14 The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. 16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. 17 I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord. 18 The Lord has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death. 19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, And I will praise the Lord. 20 This is the gate of the Lord, Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. 23 This was the Lord's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity. 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Samuel 22:47-50
47 "The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation! 48 It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; 49 He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. 50 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name.
1 Chronicle 16:8-10
8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! 9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! 10 Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

1 Chronicles 16:30-34
30 Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved. 31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, "The Lord reigns." 32 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it. 33 Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. 34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

The family is the result of God's sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Thank You Jesus!
