LEN'S LINES --- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger

It is a blessing to have Christian friends in our everyday life and those that we associate with daily. While we may have business relationships, friendly neighbors and relatives that we respect, there is something special about knowing they are also acquainted with our gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ.

We see in the Bible where we are given instructions to walk with the Lord and with Christian companions, 1 John, Chapter 1, Verse 7, " But if we walk in the light, as He is the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

On Memorial Day, our church has a church picnic for a few hours in a local park, We get to have Christian Fellowship with long time church members, new members, Christians that may have been only visiting and others that are curious about what a Christian life is all about. It is a wonderful day to greet one another, watch the kids fly kites, and play games, bring our favorite dish to share, and cook on the charcoal embers a delightful meat item. I had for the first time , a very pleasing to taste and smell, cranberry hamburger with all the trimmings , given to me by a new church friend.

Christians are companions, that build on each other, as we study the Bible and prayer together. The trials and tribulations that we face as an individual seem so much smaller, if we look to our Lord Jesus Christ and His church for the answers to our problems.

Our Lord tells us in Hebrews, Chapter 13, Verse I and 2, " Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing some have unwittingly entertained angels". Yes, people visiting church and church picnics maybe strangers to us but they should be welcomed whole heartily with a warm and friendly greeting . That is Christian Fellowship.

Let us all join in singing and worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the church of our choice this coming Sunday.
